Queen of the Fields
The client’s brief was to photograph her drag persona in the countryside of her upbringing, bringing the classic glam of her performance into conversation with the earthy quiet of her home. The intention was to stage a visual collision: silk and sequins against open fields, artifice set proudly within authenticity.
The shoot unfolded as a play of contrasts, balancing theatrical poses with the texture of grass, wind, and soil. Natural light became the spotlight, turning the landscape itself into part of her performance.
The resulting portraits capture a queen commanding the countryside as her stage—entirely at home in the space between spectacle and stillness.
